Description

Fueltreat IC-750 Intake System and DPF Cleaner is a multipurpose cleaner based on Fueltreat’s unique carbon-busting chemistry.
IC-750 is designed to remove carbon and hydrocarbon based contaminants from the Intake, Engine and dissolve encrusted contaminants on the surface of Diesel Particulate Filters( DPF) and Catalytic Converters. IC-750 is suitable for all diesel, petrol and biofueled engines and is not classified as a Dangerous Product.

Why use IC-750?

Even with the best engine designs and fuel formulas, varnishes, resins, and gums from the combustion process enter the intake system from the Exhaust Gas Recirculation system (EGR) and Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) systems. These contaminants build up and form on throttle bodies and intake surfaces. Carbon builds up gradually on intake valves and piston crowns.

These deposits interfere with the flow of intake and exhaust gases to the point that incomplete combustion may occur, causing poor performance, increased fuel consumption and higher exhaust emissions and smoke.
Direct-injection engines are more prone to carbon build up on intake valves as there is no atomised fuel directed towards the back of the valve to help clean the deposits. Instead, fuel is injected directly into the cylinder.
In stop-start city traffic this can lead to issues in as little as 10,000 kms or less.

Using IC-750 at regular service intervals will give the engine an internal clean, resulting in renewed performance, fuel economy and reduced emissions. IC-750 is safe for use with turbos and intercoolers and should be used every 10,000-15,000 kms or when symptoms such as sluggish performance, poor starting, increased fuel consumption, higher exhaust emissions and increased exhaust smoke occur.

How to Use IC-750 Intake System and DPF Cleaner
For Intake Systems

Using IC-750 is straightforward but requires some technical ability.

Step 1    Ensure the car is warmed up. Remove the air filter and locate the Mass Airflow Sensor  (MAF). The MAF is located between the air filter and the throttle body on the engine. Do not spray IC-750 onto the MAF sensor as it may temporarily change the MAF calibration when wet. Throttle bodies are unaffected.

Step 2.    Set up the IC-750 so that the spray is directed past the MAF sensor. Use the provided spray tube if necessary to allow the IC-750 to be sprayed onto and through the opened throttle body. Take care to ensure the tube doesn’t interfere with the operation of the throttle body.

Alternatively, there may be an air intake tube or similar port located after the MAF sensor but before the throttle body that can be used to inject the IC-750.
Start the engine in neutral or Park and maintain the engine speed at 1200-1500rpm. Spray the IC-750 in short bursts, keeping the engine operating as smoothly as possible. The propellant won’t cause the engine to accelerate, so it is safe for diesel engines too.

Use the entire can until empty. Continue to operate the engine at idle for 5 minutes. Replace the air filter, etc. and take the vehicle for a test drive for 10-20 minutes, preferably on highway.

For DPF/CAT Systems

Step 1    Warm up the engine and switch off. Ensure the DPF/CAT temperature during treatment is less than 40 °C.
Note: On most vehicles, gaining access to the DPF/CAT is by removal of the DPF temperature or pressure sensor.

Step 2    Use the provided spray tube to insert into the DPF through the sensor port. Spray the entire contents of the can onto the surface of the DPF/CAT in several bursts of 5 – 10 seconds with a 20 second interval between bursts. While spraying, maneuver the spray tube tip to coat as much of the DPF/CAT filter surface as possible.

Once the can is empty, wait approx. 15-30 minutes with the engine off to allow the cleaner to take effect. Replace any sensors/hardware that were removed. Start the vehicle and let idle for 15 minutes.  Take the vehicle for a 10-20 minute drive, preferably on highway.

For optimal performance and DPF/CAT longevity, regularly dose the fuel tank with a bottle of FUELTREAT FI-700 Surefire.
